Media Studies

Media Studies is dedicated to the study and contemporary use of multi-media. The department offers two seperate superior level (EQF 5) courses: Filming and Audiovisual Production and Photography and Lighting. There are no mid-level courses in the Media Studies department. 

Filming and Audiovisual Production 

Course Overview

This superior level course teaches the production and post-production of audiovisual projects from films to live television.

 

Throughout the 2 year course, students complete 2000 hours of study.

 

Students perform internships in their second year. 

What Our Students Learn

In this course our students learn how to perform various funcions as a member of a film crew, specifically in the context of television, filmmaking, live shows and 

postproduction.

Students are taught how to handle digital video equipment and film cameras as well as how to work with the hardware and software specific to editing and post-production.

Course Overview

The superior level Photography and Lighting course teaches students how to realize complete photographic projects; capture and edit images; and set-up stage lighting for audiovisual performances and events.

What Our Students Learn

Our students learn about studio photography; how to work with flashes and light management; digital retouching and printing; filming and editing of reports and videos; stage lighting; and various styles of photography.
